THE WATCHER OF THE AEGEAN

The indigenous rock that is found at the most strategic position of Skyros has been the center of all historical events of the island, since the ancient times.

Three of its sides are steep and plunge into a sudden void. The only side which is accessible leads to lower hill where the Horio is built. Upon that rock lays the Castle of Skyros. Close by, the monastery of Saint George is said to protect the island for centuries.
