KOUDOUNATI - THE BELL MEN

The Old Man - the bearer of the massive lot of the bells - is a dominant form of the Skyrian carnival. Along with him Korela and Fragos (the daughter and the Frank...).

THE "TRATA" - POLITICS AND SATIRE

Apart from the "Koudounatoi" the Skyrian carnival has many other things. There are two "Trates" (dragnet boats) on Saturday and Sunday, where people satirize Skyros' political lifel.

SHROVE MONDAY

On Shrove Monday, almost all the people of the village put on traditional clothes and gather in the main square where the public dance takes place! From there on, it is party till late at night (or early morning). It is, of course, needless to say that other than the main square one can dance in the taverns, bars, the streets, the balconies, wherever!
